Can a airless paint sprayer ever give as good as result as roller?

I鈥檝e owned a SprayTECH庐 DSP 1620 Piston for a year (oct 2005) and used it over 30 times. Is it the cheap latex paint I鈥檓 using that hindering the machine. i always use pump save and i clean the tip after its used.

should i just go out and get a roller with a electrical pump system? Can a airless paint sprayer ever give as good as result as roller?
I have always liked using a sprayer more than rolling, but that is just a personal preference. It sounds like you may need to buy a higher quality paint, but the downside to that is that it will be thicker, so you will more than likely have to thin it down. Latex paint can be thinned down with water (I always use bottled water for cleanliness). You do not have to use much so pour a little, mix it, repeat until you get the right consistency. I do not know about your sprayer or how well it works with latex, could be the sprayer. Good luck! Can a airless paint sprayer ever give as good as result as roller?
Sprayers do wear out. Pumps have to be rebuilt after so many gallons are run through them.

Paint has grit in it and it will wear them out as well as the tips in your gun and your gun too.
my airless sprayer( magna XR5) has a roller adapter, trigger feed control for spread w/ min. splash. the choice is yours. i have found that spraying is way faster if you dont have to worry about overspray, tends to use less paint also. but in an occupied setting you cant beat the power roller
the painter is right-backrolling is the key to making a spray job look more even. it is best if you have a helper to back-roll while you spray. also, i would suggest straining all of the paint before you spray. that should help with clogged tips/uneven spray.
After spraying...back roll with a roller. That will get the results your looking for.
well iuse airless sprayers all the time sounds like you might need to get a different tip or thiner but i dont like the rollers to slow and clean upvaries keep sprayer i say and its faster and nicer job
