What are the best brushes and rollers to use when painting?

I am painting my living room. The house is a only few years old and the walls have a standard, smooth texture. I am not sure which type of roller or brushes will work best with a satin latex paint.

Also, I have vaulted ceilings and need to know if there are any tools besides a ladder and a brush that could help me reach such a high area of the walls. Thanks! :)What are the best brushes and rollers to use when painting?
At your local hardware or paint store you can find a roller for smooth or semi-smooth surfaces, make sure the are anti-shed. Decorators choice are good and Lowe's carries them. Sherwin Williams carries good rollers also. If you do not paint very often you might want to consider a cut-in pad, it is a square usually red or blue with a handle and two small wheels on top that roll on the ceiling so that your paint line at the top remains straight and helps you not get it on your ceiling. It works on the bottom also. What are the best brushes and rollers to use when painting?
With rollers, it is the nap that is important. Get the proper nap for the surface you are painting. Brushes, it depends on the type paint (latex, enamel etc) you choose. Both should tell on the package what they are best used for. Don't buy the ';bargain'; brands.
There's something called an Extend'O Roller that you can get at your local hardware store. Hope I was of help!
