Should i use a roller or paint brush?

I got 3 doors to to undercoat and gloss but the biggest paint brush i got is 1 and a1/2 inches so if i use a roller should i use a foam roller or a pile roller as i have seen people use both.Should i use a roller or paint brush?
Cut it in with a brush and roll the flat sectionsShould i use a roller or paint brush?
You need at least a two inch brush. Most decorators use a low pile roller which is right, but I get on with foam rollers better because I like to apply thin coats. If you don't apply thin coats you need to lay your roller work off with a brush anyway. If you use pile rollers put them through the washing machine first and no further fluff will come out. Even if you roller you will need to cut in with a brush.
You need a bigger brush and a dense foam roller. Roller the paint over the door as fast as you can and just give it a quick light flick over with the brush afterwards. For the gloss coats - do two thin coats instead of one thick one. Line your roller tray with cling film, making sure it overlaps the edges then sellotape it to secure. No messy tray to clean afterwards.
Way faster to use both, use the brush for outside edges and around knob then for the large part use the roller, if you use latex paint, while you are using one put the other in a plastic bag (like from Walmart-so it doesn't dry out to bad), then as soon as you are done rinse them out well, but if you are done turf.
Use a roller. It would be alot quicker. You can use either roller on the undercoat but use the foam one for the gloss and the pile roller may leave fluff in the paint.
use a brush to get into all the cracks and then go over with a foam roller they are designed for oil based product make sure you have some paint on the roller otherwise it might pull the paint off again
Roller is the easiest and quickest way
Cut in with the brush..Roll all the rest.

Sasha is right too , but if you buy decent rollers they are usually good enough
