How do i remove a dried paint roller from its cage?

I had the roller in a bag but someone opened the bag and now its dried. Ive tried soaking it over night, running it under hot water and nothing! Any suggestions??????How do i remove a dried paint roller from its cage?
Buy a new paint roller. Experience says, no matter how I clean up with paint thinners or solvents, the roller will not be as good. Save yourself the trouble of recovering the paint roller. There are cheap ones that will do excellent job. Time to recover the dried out one is horrendously more expensive than buying a new one.How do i remove a dried paint roller from its cage?
Use a good utility knife and cut the old roller head off. then take some sandpaper to clean up the roller frame. It is a job of sorts, about 20 minutes worth, but at least you can salvage the frame.
