How do you get a new sleeve onto a paint roller?

I've bought a new sleeve, but I can't get the 'end' off my old roller. It turns round and moves up and down a little, so it's not stuck but no matter how much force i use, it just won't come off. Is there a special way to do it? I must have done it before to get the old one off. Or are some of them not suitable for replacing with new sleeves? How do you get a new sleeve onto a paint roller?
Most rollers I use, the cover just slides on and off the roller, you don't have to remove the end. Removing an old cover can be hard, as the paint may have gotten inside the sleeve an dried and is acting like glue. I usually hook the roller handle over the edge of the sink or a chair back so I can pull on the cover with both hands. You can also cut it off if it is really bad.

I can't imagine that it is not meant to be replaced, that would be a huge waste of money. If you are still stumped, take the roller to the place you bought it.How do you get a new sleeve onto a paint roller?
Yea you didnt wash all the paint out of the old one and being that the inside of the sleeve is basically cardboard its now stuck to the plastic ends of the roller frame itself. You are going to have to cut it off.Get a box cutter or a sharp knife and poke through the center of the old sleeve, then cut across.Once done just peel it off.

Next time you wash a sleeve, take the sleeve off and wash the inside as well of both the sleeve and the roller frame. You can pull all day,its not coming off unless you cut it.But be carefull not to cut off the plastic ends of the frame. ;)

Happy Painting!
You don't remove the end, the sleeve should slide right on, over the round plastic end.

Does your paint roller look like this?

Some are not replaceable, some unscrew and some just pull off.
There's anold saying . . . you have to be smarter than what your F*%26amp;%$ing with!
Isn't there a big screw in the end away from the handle? That is how mine works.
The rollers are only Cardboard and Felt Cut the old one off with Scissors ,
