I know this sounds like a ridiculous question but I'm actually serious :)
I ran warm water over the roller for about 15 minutes and I was squeezing it at the same time. But there is still paint in the roller. Am I doing something wrong? How clean does it need to be?How do you wash a paint roller?
Cold water is best and you can use detergent too (presumably these are natt paints and not gloss). Squeezing is good - do it from both ends while the tap is running over the roller. Takes about 1/2 an hour / 45 mins. To be honest if it's just for home decorating and you have finished I'd throw the roller away and buy another one as necessary. It ain't worth my time cleaning it :)How do you wash a paint roller?
I like a roller to be almost-new clean, since I don't want any bleed-through the next time I use it. In addition to the treatment you already used, there is a small tool you can purchase that looks like a C-shaped knife. While you are running it under warm water (or in a frequently-changed warm water bucket, run the C-shaped blade down the roller (like you were going to remove the kernels from a corncob). This does the best job of cleaning a roller
if the paint that you have used is Latex it should wash off in time ,you need to run a lot of cold water on it and with your hand run down the roller until clear water comes out ,it takes a while but it will come clean .
I just toss it...
